Charles T. F. Klotz was
a bookkeeper and accountant. The 1868 directory lists him living at 310 N. 9th
St. with an office at 232 N. 3rd St. The 1870 census lists him at 3605
Powelton Ave. He did not claim any real estate. He died in 1888.

1867 directory lists him living at 609 N. 17th St. He had an insurance office at 409 Walnut
St. He was a partner of Joseph
Tillinghast. The partnership was
dissolved in 1868 (Phila. Inquirer,
Jan. 2, 1868)
They
had a son, Robert C. Allen, who died at 4 years of age on Oct. 25, 1863.
The
1880 census and the 1889 Directory list them at 3602
Hamilton St. In
1900, William was living at 3417 Hamilton St.
with his second wife, Annie. In 1906 and
1910, they were living at 3419 Hamilton St. John had joined his
father in the insurance company by 1889 (about age 21) and in 1889-’90 moved to
4330 Wallace St.
