The History of the Building

 

3616-18: “three-story Italianate double, stuccoed. Shallow-gabled roof over 3616; 3618 has a flat roof. Double bracketed cornice; first-floor projecting bays…. 3618 has circa 1920 enclosed tan brick colonial porch.”

            The 1887 directory lists him living at 827 N. 21st St.

 

1890, Aug. 27: Death of George Slater League, 9 yrs. 3 mons. by diphtheria, son of Henry C. and Mary A. League

 

1891 Directory: Henry C. League, h 3616 Hamilton, & at Island Navy Yard, ft S Broad.

            The 1895 directory lists him at 3702 Hamilton St. along with Harry M. League.

1895 Directory: Edward D. Mitchell

                             From at least 1900 to at least 1942, he lived at 4049 Baring St. In 1895, he would have been 23 years old. He graduated from Colgate in 1900 and from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1904.
