            John H. McIlvain was a retired lumber merchant living at 3305 Baring St.

 

417-435: “Built 1884 by architects G.W. and W.D. Hewitt. Row of two-and-one-half story brick doubles; porch-fronted. some enclosed. Pressed and corbelled brick trim; paired windows with gabled dormers interrupt cornice line in all but central building in group which has slightly steeper and larger dormers and uninterrupted cornice; 425 and 429 demolished; 433 missing attic floor.”

The bride was given away by her brother, Edward Brill. She was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Brill. Henry was a farmer in Camden Co., N.J.

            In 1870, George and Lizzie Leamy were living with her mother, Mary Cunningham, who was apparently already widowed. George was a store clerk.

1901, May 22: Marriage license issued to Florence Possehl and George R. Leamy of 435 N. 33rd St.

 

1901, April 27: Death of Lorenzo Dow Leamy, 90 years old. Funeral services from the home of his son, 435 N. 33rd St.

            In 1910, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Leamy and Mary Cunningham were living at 758 N. 41st St. along with Elizabeth’s daughter-in law, who was listed as widowed. Florence was working in a department store. She claimed one child, but not child was listed in the household. Elizabeth was still listed a married.

            George Rufus Leamy died suddenly on Aug. 2, 1909 at age 35. Funeral services were held at his parents home, 758 N. 41st St.

            Mary (Fort) Cunningham died in Philadelphia July 12, 1910 at age 85. She was the daughter of John Fort.

            George Washington Leamy died in Philadelphia Nov. 8, 1913 at age 69. He was born in Harrisburg, the Lorenz D. Leamy and Jane Cox. He was buried in Westminster Cemetery.

            La Barre Leamy apparently married a second time about 1907. In 1910, he was living around the corner at 3316 Spring Garden St.

            In 1910, Wilbur E. Leamy lived at 3327 Spring Garden St.

1913, May. 1: Death of Lucy Hare, 28 years old, of 435 N. 33rd St. She was born in England. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

 

1917 Draft Registration: Alexander D. Eisenhower, born May 5, 1889. Lawyer at 509 Land Title Building

                        Arthur F. Eisenhower, born Sept. 9, 1895, Chief Cost Accountant and Assistant Paymaster, Marlin Arms Corp., 50th and Lancaster.

            In 1920, they were living at 407 N. 33rd St.

 

1919, Oct. 10: Title transferred to Robert E. Patterson by John H., Charles J. and Robert M. Girvin

 

1919, Dec. 5: Title transferred to George G. Meade by Robert E. Patterson

 

1920: Not enumerated in this census. It was probably vacant at the time of the census in January..

            In January 1920, the census recorded the Nosanow family living at 4369 Leidy with their six children as 1 to 21. Israel was 48 and Anna was 39. They immigrated from Russia in 1901 with their two oldest children. He was a tailor with his own shop.

            In 1940, the Dorner family was living in Doylestown, Bucks Co. He had had one year of high school. She had seven years of schooling. Her mother, Lena Ulrick, lived with the and their two sons.
