The Baist Atlas published in 1886 shows an empty lot. The new house is shown on the Bromley map published in 1892. There are no known inhabitants in the new house before the fall of 1889 when the 1890 directory was compiled.

1866, May. 4: Title for 3624 & 3626 Hamilton St. transferred to Josephine M. Maul by John Magrow

 

1866, Sep. 15: Title for 3624 Hamilton St. transferred to David W. Bradley by Josephine M. Maul

            When David W. Bradley died, this property was inherited by Mary Ann Magee, et al.

 

1880: No one was recorded in the census at this address.

 

1883, Jun. 19: Title transferred to Martha J. Wilson by Mary Ann Magee, et al.

 

1890 Directory: Reuben M. Magee, office at 204 S. 5th St.

 

1894: The Democratic Convention nominated Reuben M. Magee for insurance [commissioner]  (Inquirer, Jan. 14)

            In 1900, they lived at 3619 Powelton Ave. He died in 1904.

            William P. Anderson married Mary Bergin, daughter of Daniel and Bridget Bergin (see above). In 1900, they lived at 3624 Hamilton St.

            In 1920, William B. Anderson, age 30, lived in the Sunderland Apartments at 3427 Powelton Ave.

1913, Dec. 6: Death of Mary E. McCarroll, wife of William J. McCarroll. Funeral services at her late residence, 3624 Hamilton St. Internment at Tamaqua, Pa. on arrival of train leaving Phila. and Reading Terminal.

            Genevieve D. Connor married Charles G. O’Donnell in 1905 in Philadelphia.

 

1921, Philadelphia Inquirer: “FOUR AUTO BANDITS ROB ONE-ARMED MAN OF $4000.

            “Jewelry Taken From Crippled Victim Near His Home.

            “A one-armed man was held up by four men in a motor and robbed of jewelry valued at $4000 within a half block of his home at midnight. The victim is Bernard Connor, 3624 Hamilton street, owner of a fertilizing business at Twenty-sixth and York streets. The hold-up was at Thirty-seventh and Hamilton streets.

            “Connor looked over his shoulder when he heard the motor approaching. He saw it slow down, and three men jumped out. With his only arm, his right, he struck and knocked down the lending man.

            “The others drew revolvers and threatened their victim.

            “One of them snatched a diamond stickpin from Connor's necktie, another took off a diamond ring and the third went through his vest pockets and found a gold watch. They did not bother with his wallet which contained $45.

            “The highwaymen left in their car and Connor ran along Hamilton street until he stopped a motor and persuaded the driver to give chase. The two machines sped out to Fortieth and Baring streets where the bandits' car eluded the pursuing one” (Inquirer, March 1, 1921)
