April 25, 1893. They were married by Rev. Dr. Armstrong, rector of St. Andrews's Church, at the residence of the bride,
3410 Wallace St. She was Eleanor Freeland, the widow of Henry Clay Shedwick who died in 1886. In 1880, they lived at 622 N. 34th
St. (Mantua). He was the son of John Shedwick, a
builder who built many homes in Powelton.

and was prominent in Republican politics in the old Twenty-fourth ward a number
of years ago. He was a member of the Twenty-fourth Ward Executive Committee,
chairman of its Finance Committee, a member of the Union League, Hamilton,
Lincoln and Young Republican Clubs, a Grand Army veteran and a member of the
