            The house was skipped in the 1st enumeration (a blank line).

            Anna Sutton and Mary Rooney later ran Mrs. Sutton’s Home School for Girls at 3511 Hamilton St. Anna was listed there in the 1873 directory as the widow of Thomas Sutton. The 1880 census lists Ella Jordan as a student living at the school.

            In 1900, Edward and Coralie Wilson were lived at 3609 Baring St. with their three children and her father and step-mother.

            Daniel Cowgill was a successful farmer in Dover, Kent Co., Del. In 1860, he had real estate holdings worth $20,000 and $1,000 in personal property. He wife was Mary Cowgill. Their son, Clayton Cowgill and his wife Lydia M. Cowgill, were the parents of Coralie Cowgill Wilson. Clayton was a physician. It appears that Lydia Cowgill died between 1860 and 1870. In 1870, Coralie and her sister were living with their grandparents in Dover.

            He was pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, 35th and Spring Garden St. The 1887 directory lists him at 3831 Spring Garden St.

1898, July 26: Death of Rev. John H. Menges, 73 years old, of 3510 Spring Garden. Relatives and friends of the family, also ministers of the Lutheran Church and brethren of other denominations of the city, are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services, at his late residence. Internment at York, Pa. (Phila Inquirer)

 

1899, Jan. 6: Death of Alice May [Menges] wife of Allen B. Menges and daughter of George K. and Mary A. Strause, aged 28 years. … funeral services at the residence of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Rev. J. H. Menges, 3510 Spring Garden St.” (Phila. Inquirer)

            Alice and Allen Menges lived at 209 N. Front St., Camden, N.J. Dec. 31, 1900, he married Bertha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Boyer in Camden.

            The 1906 Blue Book lists Catherine at 4030 Parrish St. In 1920, Charles lived at 3723 Spring Garden St.
