Bank (named “Iron Bank,” 915 Market St.) when it was incorporated in May 1871.

“Dr. John Martin Slaymaker,
physician in this city since 1905, died at the Joseph Price Memorial Hospital
Tuesday.
“A native of Vintage, Lancaster
county, Dr. Slaymaker received his pre-medical
training at Lehigh University and was graduated from Jefferson Medical College
in 1882.
“For many years he practiced
medicine at Gap, until locating in Philadelphia 32 years ago. He was a member
of the Philadelphia County Medical Society.” (Inquirer, Dec. 2)
