            The 1850 census shows they had a daughter, Rachel, who was 11 years-old.

1876, Sep. 24: Death of Samuel H. McClure; burial at Old Saint Martin’s Episcopal Cemetery, March Hook

            “The relatives and friends of the family, also Fredonia Lodge, No. 41, K. of P., Benevolent Lodge of O. F., are invited to attend the funeral at his late residence…. Internment at Marcus Hook, Delaware county, Pa.”  (Inquirer, Sept. 26)

            William F. Mencke and Bessie H. Spear were married in 1895. Bessie and Wickham B. Spear were the children of Wickham Bedell and Mary E. Spear. In 1910, the Mecke family lived in Pasadena, California. Another brother of Bessie’s, George K. Spear, lived with them.
