1850, Jun. 30: Title for 417-435 N. 33rd and 3222 Spring Garden transferred to David B. Paul by Jeremiah Bonsall

 

1883, Oct. 5: Title for 417-435 N. 33rd and 3222 Spring Garden transferred to John H. McIlvain by David B. Paul

            John H. McIlvain was a retired lumber merchant living at 3305 Baring St.

 

417-435: “Built 1884 by architects G.W. and W.D. Hewitt. Row of two-and-one-half story brick doubles; porch-fronted. some enclosed. Pressed and corbelled brick trim; paired windows with gabled dormers interrupt cornice line in all but central building in group which has slightly steeper and larger dormers and uninterrupted cornice; 425 and 429 demolished; 433 missing attic floor.”

            In 1910, Rebecca Leeser and Margaret Shouster were living at 3318 Arch St.  In 1881, Rebecca was a dressmaker living at 3706 Sansom St.

            In 1910, they lived at 3820 Spring Garden St. Robert O’Brien was listed as a cousin and his mother was not listed.  There was also an Estella Cavenaugh, 56 years old, who was listed as a cousin.

            In 1900, Francis T., Furey was a Professor of History at Cahill High School. In 1906, he published New and Complete History of the World; the Story of the Whole Human Race and its Various Nations, from the Earliest Dawn of Civilization to the Present Day. In 1908, he published Footprints of the World's History for Young People. He had previously written An Explanation of the Constitution of the United States and other books and was Historical Editor of the Standard American Encyclopedia.
