3718-3720: “two-and-one-half story Second Empire style doubles, stone facade over brick. Same builder as north side of street. Victorian wood porch across front; four dormers in slate-shingled mansard.”

            Mary West was the daughter of William J. Loflin and Sydney Pennell.  William Nelson Loflin West was baptized at the Christ Methodist Episcopal Church, Philadelphia.  He was born March 19, 1871.  He became attorney.

Edwin P. West             17        Son; in school

            In 1910, Mary West and her son, Irwin, and Emma Zieber and her son, Eugene Ray Zieber, lived in Lower Merion.  Eugene was an undergraduate at Haverford.  She died in 1924 in Wynnwood, Pa.

            Emma S. Loflin married Eugene Zieber in 1886.  He committed suicide in June 1897 at age 39.  He had apparently become deranged after falling off of a railroad train in April (Inquirer, June 7, 1897).  They lived in Wayne.

            In 1900 and 1910, they lived next door at 3720 Hamilton St.

1949, Dec. 20: Death of Patrick J. Hayes, 73 years old, of 3718 Hamilton St.

            Josephine Hayes died in 1964. She was living in Lansdowne, Delaware Co.
