3704-3718: “three-story Italianate doubles, with bracketed flat overhanging roof, stuccoed; side projecting bays… 3708 - Circa 1920 second floor addition, facade roughcasted and shutters added. Victorian porch.”

            William Lightfoot probably married about 1869.  The second enumeration of the 1870 census (November) lists him as age 26 and born in Pennsylvania.  He is living with Sarah A. Lightfoot (27) and Milford Lightfoot (1 year).  He may have been a younger brother of Francis and Benjamin H. Lightfoot.  Francis was a surveyor who lived at 3510 Lancaster Ave.

            In 1880, they were living at 214 St. Mark’s Square.  The 1890 Directory lists him working at 423 Chestnut and living in Rosemont.  In 1900, Elbert was 70 years old and Kate was 64 and they were living in Lower Merion in the home of their daughter Kate and her husband, William C. Wetherill.  Elbert was the treasurer of a sign company.  He stated that his mother was born in Scotland.  Kate’s parents were born in N.J.  Elbert died in 1909.
