“Mount Olivet
Baptist Church Site

Significance:
Founded before 1910, the Mount Olivet Baptist congregation occupied a brick
building set back from Powelton Avenue by 1910. According to Cooperman, the
congregation left this property about 1932, when it moved to 647 N. 42nd Street
(see entry). The former church site is now occupied by a commercial building.” (Preservation
