The 1878 Scott atlas shows the row of house that are there today.

“Three-story, three-register Victorian brick rowhouse. Second and third floor windows have stone arched lintels. Bracketed wood cornice has applied wood detail on soffit and fascia. Cast plaster modillions under end consoles. First floor altered early twentieth century for shopfront” (Inventory of Buildings in Powelton from the application submitted to the National Register of Historic Places, 1985)

            In 1900, they lived at 3812 Spring Garden St. which they owned.

 

1900 Directory: Harry Pearson, driver

                        Emma Pearson

            The 1894 directory lists them living at 749 N. 46th St.  His occupation is listed as “express.” George W. Pearson died in 1885.

 

1900, Apr. 10: Death of Emma Pearson, widow of George W. Pearson. Funeral at the home of her son, Harry Pearson, 3509 Lancaster Ave.  She was buried from The Church of the Savior-Episcopal in Philadelphia.

            In 1920, Elizabeth Slough lived with her daughter, Maymie, and her husband, Henry C. Cheney, at 450 N. Salford St.  Mayme and Henry married in 1917.  Samuel Slough died in 1917 when living with them.
