1878 Scott atlas shows a single house that is not the full width of the lot.

1885, three-story, two-register brick rowhouse with stone arched lintels and stone
sills. Original double bracketed wood cornice intact. First floor converted

1875 directory lists him as a copper at 3140 Market St., but does not give a
home address. The 1874 directory lists
his business at 3910 & 3912 Lancaster and him living at 3912 Lancaster.

P. Hunter married Matilda F. Rutter in 1866 at the Nazareth Methodist Episcopal
Church in Philadelphia. She died in 1876
when they were living at 324 Budd St. He
then married Martha V. (Williams) Ross whose husband, David P. Ross died in
1881. In 1900, the Hunter family lived
at 810 N. 38th St. Newton died in 1901
at age 28.
The
1900 census also lists Martha’s mother, Grace A. Williams, who was 74. She was listed as John Hunter’s mother-in-law
who had 8 children, 4 of whom were surviving.
Grace Ann Sellers married Richard J. Williams in 1845. He died in 1895 when they were living at 3821

Mary McNeil were married in 1877. In

In 1910, George, Mary, and William lived at 3430 Warren St. George was a house painter and William was
driving an ice wagon. In 1920, George
was widowed and living as a boarder at 4066 Powelton Ave.
Samuel
Markward was listed in the directories for 1862 and
1863 living on Lancaster Ave. near N. 32nd St.
In 1860, they had six sons and four daughters. The 1868 directory lists them at 3605
Haverford Ave., Mantua. He died in 1878
when they were living at 3939 Rockland in Mantua.
