first-floor windows; splayed brick lintels; slate shingled mansard with paired
dormer window in projecting slate-shingled gabled; finial at top of dormer.

Previous Residents
1881, Aug. 31: For the Rev. George E. Rees, pastor of the
Tabernacle Baptist Church, a fine residence has been built on Spring Garden
street, just east of Thirty-fifth. It is two-stories in height, constructed of
brick laid in a black mortar, and, with its mansard roof, will present a very
attractive appearance. The dwelling will have a fine, large porch, and stands
back from the street. It will be ready for occupancy early in the approaching
autumn. (Inquirer)
