About 1920, 3410-3412 was replaced by a four-story apartment building.

            In 1880, they lived at 3637 Filbert St.  Benjamin, Sr. was working as a draftsman.  Benjamin, Jr. was an office clerk.  They had two younger children: Harry (17 years-old) and Minnie (15).

            In the 1870 census, he is listed as a coal dealer with personal property valued at $300.  John was listed as 11 months old (in June, 1870).  The 1876 directory lists him as a builder on Poplar at and 26th Sts. and living at 2833 Girard Ave.  The 1878 directory lists him as a builder at 328 Walnut St. and living at 903 N. 29th St.  Walter Kirk died in 1889 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.  He was living in Atlantic City.

            Harriet Hammond was the widow of John A. Hammond.  She died in Atlantic City in 1884.

2007: “Daniel and Jacqueline Banks of Wynnewood sold Lantern Plaza, a 6,700-square-foot, 40 unit apartment building at 3412 Spring Garden St. in Philadelphia for $1.3 million. The buyer, Abraham Weidislawsky of Elkins Park, plans to upgrade the units and market them to Drexel University students.” (Philadelphia Business Journal. June 2007.)
