The Building

 

Originally, this was a large single home.

 

Circa 1920, one-story brick rowhouse with multi-paned casement windows.

That building was replaced in 2020.

1858 Directory: Samuel Dobson, millwright at 1211 N. 3rd St., home: Bridge & 35th Streets

            The 1857 city directory lists him at 637 N. 3rd St. The 1850 census lists them living in Kensington, Ward 3. William Broadbent, a 25 year-old salesman, is living with them. He may have been Ann Dobson’s brother (see below).

Cause of death was “valvular disease of heart.”
