1914: Edith Dudley Sheldon, religious director of Philadelphia Y.W.C.A. (1800 Arch)  b. 4/12/1877. Grad. Smith Coll, Drexel Inst. Taught at Berean Manual and Industrial Sch. 1904-05; instructor in cookery Drexel 1905-06.

1915, Dec. 29: “Mrs. Therese Buchheim Hering, widow of the late Dr. Constantine Hering, died yesterday in the Hamilton Apartments, 3312 Hamilton street, West Philadelphia, in her 95th year. She was a native of Germany, and came to this country in 1845, where she has lived since. Mrs. Hering is survived by three daughters and four sons, one of the latter being W. E. Hering, president of the Globe Ticket Company.” (Phila. Inquirer, Dec. 30, 1915)

            He grew up in his parents’ home at 3418 Baring St.
