small house sat on this lot before 1860. It was replaced with the current
structure in 1895
“three-story
Colonial Revival-style, brick house with arched entry, altered porch; paired
second- and third-floor windows with brownstone sills and lintels; pressed
metal cornice with dentils, egg-and-dart detail, and modillicins,
and flat roof --- Contributing.”

Emily Roberts was the daughter of Edward
Lewis who lived across Powelton Ave. at 3234
Powelton Ave. where she grew up. She and Alfred Roberts were married
April 15, 1880. (The census was in
June.) She was listed in the 1891
directory living with her parents and she and Sydney were living there in 1900.
Alfred Reginald Roberts was an 1871 graduate
of Haverford College. He was the son of Solomon Roberts and Anna Rickey. The 1900 census lists him as a patient at the
Pennsylvania Hospital for the Insane at 49th and Market. He was 46.
He died Feb. 15, 1901 and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery.

married to Richard W. Crook. They were married in 1871. He died in March 1893.

Guernsey Co., Ohio where Winfield was a physician, the son of James Scott. He died in 1909. Bernice Scott was born June 28, 1880; therefore,
she was 60 years old. She was married to
Alfred A. J. Hoge (or Hogg).
Candace Scott died March 27, 1943
and was buried in Senecaville, Guernsey County, Ohio.
