It was originally built with 106, but was later enlarged and the front was moved to Race St.

 

106-108 “three-story Italianate style house, white stucco over brick construction. Original wood porch with turned posts intact. Foliated scrolls below original wood cornice. First floor rectangular window, second floor with slightly arched windowheads, and third-floor arcuated windows. 3500 Race (l08 North 35th) is a brick circa 1880 addition to this house

            The 1858 city directory (compiled in the Fall of 1857) lists him at Haverford and 34th St. along with Joseph Herbert, a carpenter. The 1860 directory still lists George on Haverford, but Joseph is at Haverford near 37th St.

            His parents were John Sager Cash (1803 – 1885) and Louisa Stokes (1802 – 1886).

            Catherine N. Cash was the daughter of Samuel Newell and Mary Jenkins. The 1861 city directory lists Mary Newell, widow of Samuel, living at Lancaster Ave. above 33rd St. The 1863 directory lists “Mary Newell, boardinghouse, Filbert & 35th St.” and the 1864 directory lists her running a boardinghouse at Green above 34th St. The 1867 directory lists Mrs. S. Newell, 3806 Spruce.

            They were members of The Church of the Savior (Episcopal).

            She was the daughter of George J. Cash.

            Mary Newell Cash died April 25, 1941. She was living at 34128 Race St.

1940, Nov. 12: Title transferred to Home Owners Loan Corp. by Sheriff as of Mary M. Cash

 

1940, Nov. 29: Title transferred to Dennis Bonner by Home Owners Loan Corp.
