Policy developed by the University City
Community Council to help maintain good
relations between residents and Group Homes
in University City. The article written

University
City District - A special services
district created in 1997 by major institutions
around University City to maintain a clean
and safe environment and to promote, plan,
and advocate for University City's diverse,
urban community.
UC Green - Through partnerships and education we empower volunteer environmental stewardship in University city and its surrounding communities. Each year, UC Green volunteers plant and tend hundreds of street trees and enhance public green spaces contributing thousands of hours in service to the community.
A
New Life Consumer Center (3119
Spring Garden Street) - A project of the
Mental health Association of Southeastern
Pennsylvania. The Center's mission is to
provide a safe haven and enhance the quality
of life for adults with co-occurring disorders.
New Life staff help consumers find assistance
with problems involving housing, employment
and medical care.
People's
Emergency Center (325 N. 39th
Street) - A community of concerned citizens
with a shared belief in the equality, dignity
and worth of every person. We recognize
homelessness and poverty as systemic issues
that require community responses.
Re-enter
(3331 Powelton Avenue) - A not-for-profit,
intensive inpatient drug and alcohol treatment
facility for men. The organization's mission
is to assist men in their early recovery
process.
St.
Mary's Family Respite Center (3115
Spring Garden Street) - St. Mary's mission
is to provide relief to HIV-affected families
with children, through high-quality, developmentally
appropriate child care to infants, toddlers
and pre-schoolers. All services are provided
free of charge.
Youth
Service, Inc. (410 N. 34th
Street) - YSI serves children, youth and
their families through foster care, a teen
shelter, crisis nurseries, truancy prevention,
and other community-based child abuse prevention
services.
