Good Neighbors Policy

The Powelton Village Civic Association Board would like to remind neighbors of our commitment to be good neighbors to group homes situated in Powelton Village. PVCA is a signatory to the Good Neighbors Policy, which was developed by the University City Community Council (of which PVCA is a part) in conjunction with the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Department of Human Services (DHS). The goals of the policy are:

- to open and maintain channels of communication among, the communities of University City, representatives of DPH and DHS, and funded facilities in our neighborhood.

- to integrate these facilities into our neighborhood

- to consider issues of safety, transportation, local zoning requirements and the quality of life in the surrounding community, when locating facilities.

To facilitate the resolution of any concerns or complaints, we ask that you contact, our group homes liaison, who will document your complaint and discuss it with the facility representative. You will be then be told how the problem has been addressed. If the facility is not responsive or a satisfactory resolution is not reached, representatives from DPH and DHS can be brought in to help mediate.
