Lewis Hoopes was the son of John
Hoopes and Mary A. Lewis. The 1850 census lists him living with several
siblings in the home of Abner and Hannah Hoopes, probably his grandparents, in
West Goshen, Chester Co., Pa. Abner was 73 and claimed $10,000 in property.
Lewis was listed as a farmer.

Charles W. Lawser
was born in 1872. His father died when he was an infant and his mother died
when he was 7. He and his sister was raised by their moth’s brother, Henry
Clermont and his wife, Elina. Henry was a carriage builder who was born in
Prussia.

In 1930, Henrietta Day Hoopes was a
lodger at 406 N. 32nd St. She died there in 1932.
