1892 directory lists Elias Berwald, tailor, and Augustus, salesman, living at 1257 N. 10th St.
The 1900 census lists Elias as Charles. He immigrated in 1859. He and Rachel
were living at 2143 N. Eighth St. with daughters Fanny, Charlotte (Lotta) and
Pauline. He was still working as a tailor. Charlotte was a saleslady.
