moved to Philadelphia about 1862. The
1863 directory lists him as a “huckster” and in 1864, he was selling
produce. In 1874, he became the first
president of the Philadelphia Produce Exchange.
In 1880, they were living at 717 S. 23rd St. He was listed in the census as a merchant.
