The History of the Building

 

Circa 1895, two-and-one-half story Colonial Revival red brick house with front and side slate-shingled gambrel roofs. One-story wood porch has Tuscan columns and dentillated cornice. Windows of second-floor projecting bay flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters. Below the attic gambrel is a Palladian window, nowboarded, set in a stuccoed facade”

            In 1880, Carroll R. Williams was a boarder at 3205 Baring St. He married Eleanor Boyd Palmer in 1890. He died September 22, 1929 in Solebury, Pa. She died in Solebury, Pa. August 10, 1949. They were buried in the cemetery at Solebury Friends Meeting.

            The 1915 directory lists Carroll Williams living at 3708 Chestnut St.

            James J. Sullivan married Mary F. Carlsson. He Sullivan died in 1929 at age 53. In 1930, Mary and several the children were living at 30 Pelham Road in Philadelphia. At that time Mary stated that her mother was born in Sweden.
