The History of the Building

 

416 N. 32nd & 3200 Hamilton: “three-story stuccoed Italianate style buildings with front Victorian wood porches and side entrances. Combination shallow pitched and flat roof lines; various combinations of arcuated windows. 3200 Hamilton has first-floor front projecting bays and porch with modillioned cornice.”

            Albert Finley was the son of John Finley of Norristown, Pa. Albert and his family lived there in 1900. In 1880, Albert and his father were listed as “truckers.”

1918, May: Sergeant First-Class Albert George Finley of the Army Medical Department was honorably discharged to allow him to accept a commission from the Sanitary Corp. He was honorably discharged from the Sanitary Corp. at Ft. Dix, N.J. in September, 1919.

            Albert V. Finley died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Philadelphia in 1928. At that time, William was living in Mechanicsburg, Pa. In 1930, Lydia was widowed and a boarder.
