This house was numbered 356 until 1880 when it became 418.

 

400-418 N. 31st St. were built by John Shedwick. It appears that 400-410 were built in 1860 and 412-418 in 1861. They were all doubles.

            In the second enumeration in 1870, W. Pierce Kelly is listed as Paul.

 

            Margaret Augusta Wilson was the daughter of Thomas P. and Ellen Wilson who lived at 409 N. 33rd St. She had been married to Elias Hicks Love who died in 1860 in Iowa. Their son, John Henry Love was born in Philadelphia. She then married William Holgate Kelly.

In 1900, William H. Kelly was an inmate at Norristown State Hospital for the Insane. He died there in 1908 from pulmonary tuberculosis. In 1900, Margaret lived with her two sons, William J. and Paul W. Kelly at 2033 N. 30th St. William was married with a daughter.

            Ida R. (Trout) Peck was the widow of William Peck. She and Francis J. O’Brien were married in Philadelphia June 14, 1899. In 1920, they were living at 3107 Baring St.

            In 1910, Clayton Peck was married with two children and living at 312 N. 31st St.

            In 1910, George W. Peck was living at 4036 Race St. with his wife, Fannie Smith Peck and their daughter Marie. It was her second marriage. He registered for the draft in 1917 from 3107 Baring St. where he lived with his mother and step-father. He was widowed with two children. He was killed in action during WWI on Sept. 27, 1918. He was a Private in the Army.
