The History of the Building

 

3700-02, 3704-06, 3708: “two doubles and one one-half double built by same developer. Pennsylvania marble front, cut ashlar with tooled surface. Porch-fronted bays on either side of central entrance porch. Handsome pierced wood cornice and mansarded roof with gabled, bracketed dormers. All good condition.”

1906, Mar. 22: Death of Mary E. Warren, 73 years old, of 3706 Spring Garden St.

            The 1908 directory and 1910 census list her daughter, Cecelia Warren, living next door (3704 Spring Garden St.) at the home of their family physician, Dr. Rowand.

Emma Denning           62        Married 42 years, 8 children, 4 surviving; born in NJ

Bertha Denning           30        single; born in NJ

William H. Lewis         47        Lodger; public school teacher
