of Frazier P. Bilyeu
“Frazier
P. Bilyeu who died Friday last at his residence, 211 North
Thirty-fourth street, was born in Freehold, N. J., August 29, 1856. At
the age of 15 he entered the country store of Joseph Chamberlain at Hightstown,
N. J. At the end of two years, Mr. Chamberlain, recognizing his worth, obtained
for him a position with Lord & Taylor, of New York. After ten years of
successful management for B. F. Dewees, Strawbridge
& Clothier secured him as manager for their cloak and suit department.” (Inquirer, May 18)
